Lee Jong-suk makes special appearance to unveil his figure

Red-hot Korean celebrity Lee Jong-suk makes special appearance at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong to unveil world’s first wax figure of himself
Wax figure officially joins K-wave Zone
Following a hiatus from making appearances in Hong Kong, renowned Korean star Lee Jong-suk today made a whirlwind visit to attend the unveiling ceremony of his world-first wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. The induction of one of today’s hottest Korean idols into the star-studded K-wave Zone in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is set to unleash a new K-wave frenzy across Hong Kong.
Despite capturing hearts across Asia as one of the “Four New Kings of K-pop”, Lee remained personable as ever, flashing a warm smile and greeting media at the unveiling ceremony in Cantonese. Sporting a fluorescent pink suit, the extremely lifelike wax figure shows off the celebrity’s impeccable fashion-model physique.
Lee commented in excitement: “I’d like to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong for creating my wax figure. I’m extremely honoured and excited to join the many famous personalities here, and come face-to-face with visitors from Hong Kong and the world over. I had the opportunity to take a peek at the photos of my wax figure before the official unveiling; the resemblance simply blew me away and I very much looked forward to meeting ‘myself’ in Hong Kong. The moment of unveiling just now was absolutely magical and surreal!”
The Madame Tussauds production team previously took measurements of Lee in a sitting process that lasted seven hours. Throughout the exhausting process, Lee maintained a professional attitude and kept sharing ideas with the team to ensure every single detail had been captured precisely. The production team also requested Lee to hold the exact same pose while they took more than 200 reference photos from various angles. Lee continued: “It was a unique and interesting experience. The team had won me over with their meticulous attention to detail, professionalism and brilliant craftsmanship. I’m extremely grateful for their hard work.”
The world-exclusive wax figure of Lee Jong-suk will don a fluorescent pink suit specially designed to exude contemporary style while showing off Lee’s perfectly sculpted fashion-model physique. Lee revealed that his wax figure’s dynamic pose – standing on one foot – expresses his active spirit and youthful personality, whereas his “V” peace sign is meant to impart a positive attitude among visitors of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
Lee debuted as a fashion model at the young age of 16 and made a splash when he appeared as the youngest ever male fashion model at Seoul Collection of Seoul Fashion Week. He began to garner attention for his figure and handsome looks in 2010 when starring in the television dramas Prosecutor Princess and Secret Garden. In 2013-14, he played leading roles in I Can Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio, which brought him numerous accolades, including Grime Award’s youngest-ever Best Male Actor.
Ms Kelly Mak, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, said: “We are delighted to have Lee Jong-suk with us today for the unveiling ceremony of his world-exclusive wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. The Korean wave has taken Greater China and Asia by storm, and made a significant impact on popular culture worldwide. By launching the world’s first K-wave Zone last year, we have made it possible for fans of Korean culture to get up close to their favourite Korean celebrities without having to visit Korea. We became aware that many visitors wanted to interact with the wax figure of Lee Jong-suk, who is immensely popular and truly one of the brightest stars in Korean showbiz today. His arrival at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will definitely boost the star power of K-wave Zone.”
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s K-wave Zone, the first K-pop themed zone in Madame Tussauds worldwide, is also home to other Korean celebrities including: Siwon Choi, member of popular pop group Super Junior; Kim Soo-hyun, the lead actor of the immensely popular series My Love from the Star; U-Know Yun-ho and Max Changmin from TVXQ!, often dubbed “the Kings of K-pop”; Nichkhun Horvejkul, singer and rapper from boy band 2PM; and Bae Yong-joon, best known for his role in the drama Winter Sonata.

Lee Jong Suk to unveil his own wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

Madame Tussauds is a famous wax museum based mainly in London, England, with branches in a number of major cities around the world, where one can view wax figure exhibits of historical and royal figures, film stars, sports stars and famous murderers.
Following the unveiling, Lee Jong Suk’s wax figure will be displayed alongside world-renowned figures like U.S. President Barack Obama, actresses Angelina Jolie and Audrey Hepburn, singer Lady Gaga, Hong Kong actors Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Bae Yong Joon, Kim Soo Hyun, and many others, at the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong museum.

Lee Jong-suk goes metrosexual

Lee Jong-suk’s boyish charm flows strangely well with metrosexual style. High Cut Magazine’s 166th issue paints the model-turned-actor in his simplest, yet most charming form.
It’s probably due to his past modeling career, that the actor is now capable of portraying versatile images on-screen. In a brief interview with the magazine, he said that he is jealous of actors with more “mature and masculine” faces. “Sometimes, I worry that I’m stuck with the typical ‘young, boyish’ roles on-screen, due to my physical features.”

Fans of Lee have been yearning for a glimpse of the actor since he took an unofficial hiatus from beginning of 2015. He promised his fans that his goal for this year is to return with at least three different works.
Also, his choice between Taek and Junghwan in the recent “Reply 1988” husband rivalry, was Taek. “I just think his charm works for me,” he said casually.
An Ivory trench coat matched over beige slacks and vintage sneakers gives a casual, yet chic vibe to the actor’s overall look.
Grey turtleneck sweater with black pants and shoes is the definition of minimalism in its coziest form.
Actor Lee Jong-suk’s urban-chic photoshoot can be viewed in the 166th issue of High Cut Magazine.

Lee Jong Suk reveals his favorite ‘Reply 1988’ character

Actor Lee Jong Suk recently filmed a pictorial for issue 166 of ‘HIGH CUT’ magazine, which was filmed under the concept of a man who walks out from a manga.
Lee Jong Suk showed off his innocent and mature charms in a suit, casual, and t-shirts, and drew attention for his well-defined facial features and lanky frame.
He revealed his frustrations as an actor in the accompanying interview, “When I view my works, it gives me a feeling that I am stuck in my youth. I am agonizing over how to surpass this image, and show a more manly side of me. An actor’s image is largely based on his appearance, so I am really envious of actors who have a masculine image.”
Fans in Korea have been waiting anxiously for something new from Lee Jong Suk, as his last drama was ‘Pinocchio’ in early 2015. He explained, “I feel more and more empty as my hiatus grows longer. I will work like a cow this year, and film at least three works.”
Finally, Lee Jong Suk also shared something about the drama ‘Reply 1988’ which ended last week, “I really like the character Choi Taek. It’s really charismatic.”

Lee Jong Seok and Zheng Shuang Confirmed for 1930’s Era C-drama Emerald Jade Lover

It’s a done deal, now fans of Lee Jong Seok can only sit back and wait to see the end product. Lead casting for Chinese-Korean co-production C-drama Emerald Jade Lover is complete, with Lee Jong Seok as the male lead and the female lead now confirmed to be Zheng Shuang. Filming begins in January in Shanghai and Hengdian, the massive film studio capital of China. To do this drama, Zheng Shuang reportedly postponed her sabbatical to study overseas, which isn’t a surprise since she’s only 24 years old and her breakout drama with Let’s Go Watch the Meteor Shower came out when she was all of 18 years old. Zheng Shuang wouldn’t be my pick for Lee Jong Seok’s leading lady but it could have been worse, and there is something new to look forward to as she’s totally different in visuals and acting styles than all his previous leading ladies. With low expectations, this has a good chance of being a pleasant surprise of a watch.
Lee Jong Seok’s character is described as a mysterious returning from overseas business executive, who straddles both legit business enterprises and the underground mafia world. Zheng Shuang’s female lead is a romantically clueless rich girl who has her world turned upside going, going from princess to pauper, and in the process undergoing a radical growth and maturity into a strong capable woman. Their romance will be of the meet cute bickering type. I’m also intrigued at seeing capable Korean PD Jin Hyuk helming his first C-drama, and bringing his visual aesthetic to the process.
